Profile photos are an essential part of most social networks. They are clear visual identifiers for users and are one of the most prominent ways in which members can creatively set themselves apart within their community.
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to enable profile photos for all users. To get started log in to the admin panel. Once in the admin panel, follow these instructions:
On the left-hand side under “Settings” click “Members”
Once in the “Members” section scroll down to the menu labeled “Picture”. This menu offers different options for customizing profile pictures.
Once here, click on the downward-pointing arrow to reveal the options for profile photo customizations:
The five options are as follows:
Required on sign-up and edit profile - Enabling this means that users are required to select a photo upon signing up and when editing their profile.
Optional on sign-up and edit profile - This gives members the option of uploading a profile photo or operating with the stock avatar.
Hidden on sign-up, optional on edit profile - This option removes the profile photo step during sign-up but will be given the option to upload a profile photo later when editing their profile.
Hidden on sign-up, required after sign-up - If this option is enabled users will not see the option to upload a profile photo upon sign-up but will be required to add a profile photo after they confirm their email address and log into the site as part of the process of completing their registration.
Hidden everywhere - Enabling this means that users will not see the option to upload a profile photo.
These are all the options available for profile photos in SocialEngine Cloud.
