Using LESS for your Themes

Introduced in SEPHP 4.9.4, you can use LESS as a pre-processor for managing a theme.

SEPHP utilizes PHP Scaffold as its primary pre-processor for themes and you can continue to use Scaffold with LESS. If you haven't created a theme already, make sure to do so first. You can learn more about creating a theme here.

Our built-in LESS pre-processor looks for a file main.less. If this file exists in your theme's root directory it will run the LESS pre-processor and convert it into main.css. To use this file in your theme, you simply need to edit your theme.css file and add the following to the top of the file:
In order to allow the editing of your main.less file, you need to open up your theme's manifest.php file and add this file to the set of files that can be edited from the Theme Manager and to run the LESS pre-processor on it.
In the snippet above, we are displaying part of a manifest.php file and it is where you can define within 'files', what files you wish to edit from the Theme Manager and 'less', which controls what files we should process when saved. Great work! Please feel free to community to have more interactions with us and other clients or third party developers. We’d love to see you there!
